Ok, if the England's womens rugby union team were equivalent to the England mens football team ..... England go into the WC on the back of a winning streak and continue through to the final after winning their last 30 games

Of course Perth Scorchers won the BIG BASH after playing 14 of 15 games away from home and Western Australia followed up by winning the SHEFFIELD SHIELD and the 50 over competition
That said the last two ASHES Tests were in January 2022 so SURELY they are a SHOO-IN for Best Overseas Team.
Just a generous light call at Sydney away from James Anderson being the first man to lose 3 (THREE) Ashes series 5-0. Nice touch if he presented the trophy

As an achievement they're probably pretty equivalent.
However, as the cricket team won the T20 world cup in 2010 and the team award three years ago I'd give it to the Lionesses.

To be fair, the England women had a player sent off after 18 mins didn't they? Against New Zealand, in New Zealand, in the World Cup Final. Hmmmmm....
And then still only lost by three points. That's actually pretty good going.

One thing is for sure , they are over the moon the women lost the rugby World Cup.
What a game that was!
And the coverage was minimal.
Why arent those girls being lauded as national hero’s on every tv show today and over the next month?
Answer - doesn’t fit the agenda and there isn’t as much money in rugby
If they were the mens t20 or ODI or the mens rugby union team and they went into a WC final on the back 30 successive wins .... and LOST .... they would be pilloried from today into the middle of next week.
With the women its .... oh dear, never mind
The women footballers will be team of the year. With the mens team added reluctantly as joint winners if they win on Dec 18

Wouldn’t surprise me if it were shared. But probably the woman’s football team seen as it was at home and all on the BBC. And they’ll probably argue the mens cricket team won it in 2019.
If the men win the World Cup (yeah right) then it’ll definitely be shared.
